For older children, the ministry of intentional shepherding crystallizes in the small-group setting. But can you shepherd preschoolers in small groups? Yes, you can! Rather than Bible study or intense application, however, the goal of preschool small groups is to care for the children in such a way that they feel noticed and loved and cared for. By focusing on content suited for them and a community built to support them, preschoolers can delight and flourish in the small group setting.

This tool is adapted from '"Shepherding Infants and Their Families" and '"Small Group Time for Preschoolers" PromiseLand Conference workshops by Jean Jespersen, Amy Wulbecker, and Beth Bauer. PromiseLand is a ministry of the Willow Creek Association.
